Court Extends Suspension of Payments of La Perla with 9 Months
AMSTERDAM, 8 July 2011 – The Court of Amsterdam has
extended the suspension of payments of the three La Perla companies
with 9 months. At the end of July, the period of 18 months for
which the suspension of payments was granted in the first instance
will terminate.
The trustee, Bart de Man of Kennedy Van der Laan, is positive
about this decision of the Court: "At this moment we are
working hard on the investigation into the feasibility of a
wellsubstantiated and durable composition with creditors, together
with external advisors. Since the end of April of this year we have
a short-term preferential loan to a bankrupt estate which enables
La Perla to complete this investigation in the coming period.
Meanwhile, it remains a challenge to keep the assets
together."
Incorporator and owner Geert Duizendstraal is pleased that La
Perla has been given extra time and support once again from the
informal lenders and the other creditors in order to investigate
how the available assets of La Perla can be used as good as
possible in the interest of the parties involved.
