Consideration of liablility for information
products
This doctoral thesis addresses the question of whether product
liability rules can be applied to cases of personal injury or
property damage caused by software or information.
This is relevant to injured parties since, under Dutch law,
product liability is a specific and serious form of liability,
equivalent to Anglo-Saxon 'strict liability'.
The key criterium for application of product liability law in
these cases is whether software and other information products can
be qualified as a 'product' under Dutch law
