Esther Pans
Esther Pans joined Kennedy Van der Laan in 2011, after having
attained a legal doctorate at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam
(2006) and having worked as an attorney in a niche office in
Amsterdam. Esther regularly trains and lectures on subjects in the
field of liability law or health care law, inter alia on
the Euthanasia Act, the capability to express one's will and
the compensation of emotional loss. She publishes in various
professional journals, including Nederlands Juristen Blad,
Medisch Contact and Tijdschrift voor Verkeersrecht, and is a member
of the Private Law Section of the Vrije Universiteit
Amsterdam. She (co-)organized two annual conferences for the
Working Group of Physicians and Lawyers (Werkgroep Artsen
Advocaten (WAA)).
In an earlier past, Esther briefly worked as a court secretary
with the police court in Amsterdam, as a supporting lawyer with an
international business in Amstelveen, and as a student assistant
with the Penal Law and Criminology Section of the University of
Amsterdam.
Esther enjoys skating, swimming, modern dance, reading
and theatre.
