Itse Gerrits
In 2005 Itse Gerrits graduated cum laude from the University of
Amsterdam with a major in employment law. In 2006, he earned his
bachelor of law degree in English law at the University of Kent at
Canterbury (UK) with an “overall merit”. During his studies he
worked with the Rechtswinkel Amsterdam (a legal advice center) and
was a member of the board for one year.
After his graduation, Itse worked as an attorney at a big law
firm for three years, including in the employment law group. In
January 2010 he switched to Kennedy Van der Laan.
Itse engages in all aspects of employment law and specializes in
civil servants law.
Within the field of civil servants law, Itse litigates and
advises in cases regarding dismissals, disciplinary measures,
reorganizations and other matters relating to legal position. The
clients he represents include judges and public prosecutors. Itse
is part of the civil servants law team of Kennedy Van der Laan.
Furthermore, he acts as an advisor and litigator throughout the
spectrum of employment law, ranging from collective and individual
redundancies to transfers of undertaking. He acts on behalf of both
national and international clients, and both for employers and
employees.
Itse is a member of the Dutch Civil Servants and Law Association
and the Employment Law Association.
