Klaartje Stalenhoef

Klaartje Stalenhoef has been working in the Employment Law Group of Kennedy Van der Laan since 2006. Her practice spans employment law in a broad sense; besides classic employment law, she also engages in employee co-governance law. She is especially interested in matters in the field of equal treatment and discrimination. This interest is expressed, inter alia, in the articles Klaartje has published on this topic and the legal proceedings she has conducted before the Subdistrict Court and the Equal Treatment Commission.

Klaartje's clients are mostly medium-sized and large employers (including listed companies and multinationals). In addition, she works for many non-profit organizations.

In 2010 Klaartje was seconded for a few days per week to the legal department of a large public transport provider, where she occupied herself with all aspects of employment law. In 2008 she worked at the Insurance and Liability group for some time, where she extended her knowledge in the field of liability law, including employer's liability.

Apart from her work at Kennedy Van der Laan, Klaartje is actively involved in the Foundation Lawyers for Lawyers. This foundation is dedicated to offering support to lawyers all over the world, who are hindred in the performance of their work and who cannot exercise their profession independently and in freedom.

Prior to her joining Kennedy Van der Laan, Klaartje worked as a registrar and later as a deputy court clerk at the Court of Haarlem. In 2005 she worked as a volunteer for a local human rights organization in Northern India, where she conducted a comparative law study into alternative dispute resolution (ADR) at the instruction of the Indian state and UNDP (United Nations Development Program).
