Chris Nekeman

After having worked for several years with FNV Dienstenbond and at a small law firm, Chris joined Kennedy Van der Laan in 2001.
Chris specialises in Employment law, Co-governance law and Civil servants law.
The majority of his clients are businesses, but he also assists private individuals and works councils in employment related litigation. Regularly, he also assist judges and public prosecutors in matters relating to legal position.


Chris holds several ancillary positions. He is Chairman of the dispute resolution committee of the collective employment agreement for the welfare and social service sector and co-chairman of the dispute resolution and objections committee of the collective employment agreement for the childcare sector.
Furthermore, Chris is a permanent editor of the co-governance journals 'OR Informatie' and 'OR Rendement', he annotates judgments for the employment-law journal JAR and lectures in employment-law courses on a regular basis.


As a member of the Employment Law Association, Chris has been part of the Employee Co-Governance Law Working Group. Chris has chaired the subgroup "The role of trade union and Works Council in employment conditions (pay and hours)". This working group has prepared the Recommendations for the evaluation of the Dutch Works Councils Act 2009/2010 for the Minister of Justice.
