Chambers Global 2006
"Clients flock to this practice because in the words of one source, its lawyers are "more focused on us than bigger firms and give us more partner attention." Although it is smaller than some of its competitors, it offers a wade array of services from merger control filings to administrative fine proceedings. It is also often a first point of contact for foreign companies entering the Dutch market and looking for general counselling on the national competition laws.

Legal 500 EMEA 2012

Regulatory

The regulatory practice group of Kennedy Van der Laan focuses on a wide range of governmental regulation of society and business. Regulation of specific market sectors and commercial activities affects a growing number of areas of business - . telecommunications, media, energy, financial markets and health care.

The EU and Dutch competition authorities also closely regulate all sorts of commercial transactions and practices, business concentrations and cooperation forms, and business practices of companies which are market leaders. Our EU and competition/antitrust practice addresses these areas, always conscious of the frequent overlap with sector-specific market regulation.

The Dutch privacy regulations and the actions of the Privacy Authority have an impact on all businesses and government, both traditional and online. Our privacy practice advices business and government, including the Dutch Privacy Authority itself, on all aspects of privacy law and policy.

Our regulatory practice is integrated in each of the market sectors in which regulatory advice and litigation are most called upon - telecommunications, media, energy, health care, financial institutions, and construction and project development. Regulatory expertise is equally indispensable to our corporate transactions practice where regulatory approval can be key to the success of the deal.
